I personally really like having a PC compared to a tablet like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 because I like having some type of work station at home when I want to do some serious work. I think the tablet takes that type of mentality away from me when I know I can go anywhere in my home, opening more opportunities to not get my work done. However, my brother did buy Samsung Galaxy Tab, and I do like the thinnest and mobility of having it around, especially when I just want to relax outside of my room. So there are its ups and downs...but it would be sad (at least in the beginning) if PCs were to be discontinued...
